1 Helpful Word When Tempted to Doubt God’s Goodness (James)

“Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:16-17, NIV

Here we are again!  I just love your comments of how God worked James 1:2 into your heart with 4 Words To Help You When Trials Come (click if you are interested). Thank you for sharing and diving in with me!

As I continue to study James, I am loving all the nooks and crannies God’s word illuminates in my heart. Verse 16 had me at the first four words “Do not be deceived…”

When I am walking through a trial, it is so tempting to doubt God’s goodness. My thoughts begin to crawl with things like:

Does God really love me?
If He does, then why is He allowing this to happen?
Is He really working in my life? Does He even care?
Does He have a good plan for me?

Doubting Him is my first step towards disconnecting with His strength, power, peace, and comfort in a time when I really need Him the most.

There is a WORD found in James 1:16-17 to help us get our hearts align with His truth again. And I’m excited to share it with you!
