Day 1: Getting Rid of the Gloomy and Blah Days

radiant-rays

Yay! It’s Day 1 of the 31 Day Writing Challenge!

Before you read any further, do a quick self-evaluation by answering these questions:

  • Do you feel gloomy and blah?
  • Ae you in a funk and don’t know why?
  • Do you look to other people, successes, productivity, affirmation as the “bright spot” to your day?
  • How do you shine your light for Jesus and is it really worth it?

I have answered these questions in the worst possible way.  If you did too, you are not alone.

But, I have been on an amazing spiritual journey.  It all started when a friend shared this verse:

Those who look to him are radianttheir faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5, NIV

Radiant, hmmmmm…

sparkly

glowing

bright

resplendent

glittering

gorgeous

dazzling

luminous

joyful

confident

delighted

I LOVE all these words.

I want to BE all these words.

I BELIEVE that if you stick with me through this month as we dive into God’s truth together, you will grow beyond those gloomy and blah days.

I PROMISE if you come with an open heart, you will be more confident, more joy-filled, more dazzling, more gorgeous.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16, NIV

And this reminds me of a little tune from childhood:

See you tomorrow!
