Day 24: When You Are Doing It the Hard Way

I hope you’ve had a great weekend!

For the last 23 days, we’ve built a solid foundation of what God says about radiance.

This week, we are going to pivot. We are going to move:

from learning how to have His light shine ON US

to have His light shine THROUGH US.

It is the very purpose of His light.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine IN our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”  2 Corinthians 4:6, NIV

As God’s light shines on us and in us, it will indubitably shine out of us!

This is great news! It means all those behaviors, relationships, selfless good deeds that you know you need to do because it’s the right thing- God’s thing- naturally come as you are in the position to reflect Him.

So, quit trying so hard to do what you think you should out of pure grit and self-sufficiency. You are attempting to accomplish something that you can’t do. You are doing it the hard way. We just have to be in position to reflect. It’s His light that shines.

Let His light shine on your heart. Ask Him to help you change. Invite him into the space. He’s the only One who has the power to change you.
