I love this tree. It fills up with puffy pink flowers each spring. I ooh and ahh about it for a few weeks and take a bazillion pictures. It is God’s created beauty in such a tangible example. And, it testifies to the power of light to grow and change something into such beauty. Without the sunlight, it wouldn’t bloom.
We need God’s light to shine on us even more so!
Yesterday, we talked about allowing His light to shine in us to change us. What’s the reason for His light in our lives anyway?
If we only soak up God’s light and not in turn shine it on others, it would be a such waste. If we only stored up a bunch of things we know about God’s light and never embrace the power that it holds, it would be such a shame. We would be so close yet absolutely miss the power that is available to us- just within our reach.
The reflected light of Jesus becomes a change agent through us to change the world. Do you feel like you have no power to impact this world for good? Friend, let your light shine. You have a purpose. You have a mission. You have an opportunity.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16, NIV
For the rest of the month, I will be sharing a list of ideas, examples, and tips of what it looks like to shine your light before others so that they may see and glorify all of who God is.
- In your own heart
- In your marriage
- In parenting
- And in your neighborhood/school
Be thinking of ways that you’ve experience His light shining in you so that His light shines through you and others see Him clearly. I’d love to hear your ideas and tips too.
See you tomorrow!
